Communication is clear: the benefits of how to achieve them
Communication is a difficult and often complex for the receiver and sender. Barriers on both sides of the process often deflect the real meaning of the message and inhibit, open, clear communication and rewarding. Studies show that a large part of the organization's problems are caused by poor communication, and larger part of the organization's progress and even of good communication stems.
Everyone can benefit from their improvementCommunication skills. Some benefits of improved communication skills are:
1. Improved productivity – 2. Better problem solving – 3. Fewer complaints – 4. Enhanced creativity and efficiency – 5. Better working relationship – 6. Great personal satisfaction.
How to obtain these benefits? First it is necessary to define the term communication. Communication is the exchange of information. This is a process of understanding on the other handOf the recipient and the sender.
Empathy, Over the years, people were looking for some one, combining the basic principle of communication success. Many believe that is empathy. Empathy is a habit of putting yourself in someone else's place, get "into their skin," to understand how they feel, see and experience a situation or problem as they see the same experience, and listening carefully the perspective of the other person. Empathy is simple in conceptAbstract, but in practice hard to achieve a consistent habit. Parental empathy for those who can actually, is the key to people understanding and effective communication.
FEEDBACK-power of "feedback" in the media all can not be overstated. For sender, it means to do it a habit to encourage the sender to receiver verbally what the receiver actually realized. If the sender detects that the receiver has a different understandingFrom no one intended, the sender can try again. Without such feedback, the sender will not be aware that there is a misunderstanding and that he must be corrected. Receiver only needs to hold the sender's attention long enough to "feed back" to what the receiver has understood that to check the accuracy.
Verbal signals the importance and impact of non-verbal communication signals is amazing. (By verbal signals we mean elements such as tone of voice,Pitch, hesitation, facial expression, posture, etc.) A new study shows that 90% of communication impact depends on verbal signals and only 10% of the words used.
Achieve the results you desire with effective communication
A common definition of communication is: “the transmission of meaning to others”.
However, “the meaning of communication is the response you get” more appropriately describes an effective transmission of our messages.
Suppose we tell our spouse we love them, yet instead of being happy they get upset or hostile. Or we request our business partner be more productive with their time, yet they laugh as they press the button to start another ‘game’ on their Computer.
In fact, our media was more likely to trigger these negative consequences of our not knowing it or being our purposeful intent. So it is important that the other person understands what we want them to understand that they understand the intended meaning that it is transmitted.
Rather, purposeful communication is designed to transfer to other means, in other words, the sender must pressHave a clear knowledge and understanding of the meaning he or she wants to move. By keeping the responsibility and by changing our actions, we can change our media.
The most common cause of misunderstanding or miscommunication stems from the assumption that the words we use (label) is the object. Two people can then argue about the concept, referring to it using the same word, arguing that the word that means something different to each.
The importance ofThe words we use in the media are key if our messages are being delivered effectively.
For communication to be meaningful, the words used must establish a referral or thought the same sender and recipient. Words vary considerably in their value for the media as they differ in their level of abstraction. As the level of abstraction, the means they have less.
Four categories of words will affect the effectiveness ofour communication. For example,
- Labels or objects include words such as chair, table and car and are easily recognizable
- Events such as ‘party’ or ’sale’ might not be so similarly perceived by both the sender and receiver as these can imply both action and time
- Groups or generalizations include such words as furniture, resources, neighbours or employees. Usually not specific i.e. an employee could be full time, part time, male, female, professional, non professional, skilled, unskilled, single married etc.
- Value judgements or ideology words include more descriptive words such as beautiful, necessary, valuable, truth and individuals may widely differ in their personal perception of such words
In fact, it is the sender of the communication that holds the power to change the result we produce.
The following 5 tips are vital elements to ensure messages are being transmitted clearly.
1. Establish rapport with the Except
2. You have your own ideas is clear before attempting to communicate them
3. Be clear in order to initiate an action such media can be a goal to inform others, to obtain information or
4. Be clear and specific with your language, be aware of the level of abstraction of the words
5. Repeat the other person what you said, his or her words.
Understand that to communicate effectively and achieve the desired results,Sender must determine the purpose of communication and the use of words, gestures, patterns which have the same meaning for the sender and receiver.
